West Wallsend Indoor Amateur Swimming Club was formed in 1978. It has been the aim of our Club every since to provide an atmosphere & a basis upon which our children can build self confidence & self discipline from an understanding derived from the fun of competing, setting goals & most importantly, sportsmanship.

West Wallsend Indoor is today a club of some 100 members based at the West Wallsend Swimming Centre, a 25 metre six lane indoor heated pool. Our membership ranging in ages from infants to seniors, drawing not only from adjacent areas, but also from many parts of the Newcastle & Lower Hunter areas of New South Wales.

Through dedication, focus, skill & plain hard work by all concerned, WWI is privileged to have in its ranks an ever increasing number of talented young swimmers who have reached country, state & national standards & regularly compete at these elite levels.

Membership of West Wallsend Indoor is open to both swimming and non-swimming members. To compete in events on club race nights, a member must be able to swim a distance of 12.5 metres unaided. Swimmers are graded into one of five grades, 'A' through 'E' for each stroke.
